Having run in two provincial (2001, 2004) and two federal (2008, 2011) elections and worked as a campaigner in two more provincial elections (2008, 2012) and three federal elections (2000, 2004, 2006), I guess I could say that politics is my main passion.

Also, it's no surprise to those who know me that the NDP is my choice of parties. Why the NDP? Although new rules prohibit donations to political parties from corporations, my view is that the NDP is the only party that really serves the goals of ordinary Canadians. And Tom Mulcair is the strong, experienced leader to take on Stephen Harper.

These days the environment is foremost in the minds of almost all Canadians. It was an NDP MP who first raised the issue of global warming in 1983, 24 years ago. The NDP has been the party that has consistently pushed for measures that will allow Canada to meet its Kyoto commitments.

And, as most Canadians know, it's the NDP that continues to stand up for health and education for working families. Tommy Douglas brought Medicare to Canada and it was during his time as leader of the federal NDP in the 1960s that Canada adopted Medicare due to pressure he applied to the government of the day.

Below are some of the web sites that inform my political views. Please look them over. Let me know what you think of them.
